Strategy

Infantry are one of only two units able to capture structures and as a result, are almost necessary to build in order to control more resources and production facilities.

They don't do much damage in combat, but can finish off weakened foes and act as a buffer for your valuable vehicles, sponging attacks so your tanks can strike before taking damage and ensuring attackers don't get too close to your artillery.

They also useful against extremely powerful isolated units like stealths and megatanks, by surrounding the nearby squares infantry can trap the deadly machines and ensure minimal damage is done while you find a way to deal with with the situation.
