Cities are the most basic property and the most common one seen on Advance Wars maps. They provide income every turn and can be used to repair and resupply land units that stand on them at the start of each turn.
Although fairly simple in design, cities are nevertheless of considerable importance in a match due to the funding they give. The repairs and supplies can also make them a staging point for further pushes and a very defensible location, especially with their high defense value of 3. Losing control of a city does not spell immediate defeat, but the small funding difference can accrue over the course of a game if it is not quickly recaptured. As such, the fight for contested cities towards the middle area between players drives much of the early and mid-game battles.
Kindle has an affinity for cities, with her day-to-day and regular CO power mainly shining on cities due to their frequency of appearance, and she gains an attack boost with her SCOP specifically based on the number of cities she owns. The CO power of Sensei and Super CO power of Sensei and Hachi also benefit from cities as they are able to produce units from them during these powers, usually leading to them possessing large unit count advantages over other COs. Finally, though not having any affinity for cities in particular, Lash also enjoys fighting from them due to their high defense bonus giving a large attack bonus to land units in tandem with her day-to-day and SCOP.
